The petite beauty Amrita Rao stole many hearts when she made her debut with the film ‘Athidhi’. Later, she got back to her base Bollywood but then she has stuck to some girl next door roles and got good accolades for that. However, she has now changed her gears.
Amrita will be seen in some really sizzling stills in her forthcoming venture ‘Shortkut’ and given her slender figure, she looked totally oomphlicious. The credit for this as per sources goes to producer Anil Kapoor who is said to have advised to shed her clean image and get a bit wild.
Ever since Amrita has done that, the unit members are said to be calling her Amrita Baby now instead of Amrita Rao. Given her new image that is ready to set the screen on fire, it remains to be seen whether Amrita will send a new message to her admirers and the film folks as well.
“I twisted my ankle while shooting. I’ve been asked to take four weeks’ rest,” says the actress, who’s busy shooting for Telugu films till June 2009 and wasn’t looking for a break. “I’m sick and tired of being at home. I want to resume shooting in a week,” she says.
Ileana’s got her plate full shooting for four films — one each with Nitin, Ravi Teja, Vishnu and Junior NTR — and that’s got her globetrotting. “I’ve just been to New zealand, Malaysia and the US, and might be travelling to Morocco for the Nitin movie (Local) and to Canada with Ravi Teja,” she reveals. Doesn’t she get tired of travelling so much? “I love a change of scene and going abroad for shoots,” she replies.
However, Ileana hasn’t been doing films in any other languages. She even reportedly refused Soundarya Rajnikanth’s Sultan, The Warrior. “I didn’t reject the film,” she clarifies, “It was mutually decided that it was better for me not to do the film as I didn’t have much to do in it. I was also offered a movie with Vijay. Since I had date problems, I couldn’t take it up.”
Did any Kannada film offers materialise when she was in Bangalore for a Times event earlier this year? “I know Indrajit Lankesh. We were actually thinking of doing a movie. I’ll consider it only after I complete my pending projects,” explains Ileana. And what about the next step — a Bollywood debut? “My Hindi film launch should be at par with my first Telugu film, Devadasudu. I’m not pushy and will take up an offer only if I get recognised as I was in Tollywood,” she says.
There were rumours that the super-slim star wanted to get hormone injections to enhance her figure. True? “I don’t know how these rumours spread. This is so stupid. I’m very comfortable with my body. I’m not for such procedures or cosmetic surgery and I don’t recommend it to anybody unless it’s in a life-threatening situation. I’ll never change the way I look and people will have to accept me as I am,” she asserts.
Ask Ileana about whether she’s dating anyone and she becomes less candid. “When the right time comes, people will get to know. A relationship is something to celebrate. I think we should drop the matter,” she signs off.
